Garden Workshop Series
Spring 2012 Garden Workshops at the Great Park
Our spring workshop series begins at the Great Park Farm and Food Lab in March. Come out and learn from local experts. The workshops begin at 10:00 am and run about 1 hour. Admission and parking is free. After the workshop, wander through the Farm and Food Lab demonstration gardens and enjoy the many displays and our new chicken coop – complete with chickens.

Edible Gardening Basics for Adults
This new monthly workshop series is being held at the Farm and Food Lab at the Great Park in Irvine. The workshops will be given by the Orange County Master Gardeners, and are free of charge. Except for the last workshop, they will be held on the second Thursday of each month from November to March. The last workshop will be held on April 5th at the Rancho Senior Center, 3 Ethel Coplen Way, Irvine. All workshops are free of charge and will be held, rain or shine, from 10:00 am to noon.
This monthly workshop series is designed to explore the basics of how to grow edibles in a garden or on a patio or balcony, and will help build the skills you need to be a successful gardener. For more information visit ocgp.org or call 949 724-6800
The workshop dates are:
- March 8 – #5 The Warm Season Garden
You will learn how to switch your garden to warm season vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers, squash, beans and other favorites. - April 5 – #6 Series Recap and Seed Planting
Trouble shoot your garden dilemmas and participate in a take-home seed planting activity. Reminder - this workhop only will be held at the Rancho Senior Center in Irvine.
