Scarecrows in the Park Appreciation and Recognition
The Park's Pumpkin Harvest was held this past Saturday, and early projections estimate that approximately 12,000 visitors attended the event.
The exhibits will continue being displayed until November 1st, at which time we will remove them.
We had over 500 total ballots cast and the votes have since been tallied:
The overall top vote-getter; "Best in Crow": "Indy Whips OC Traffic," presented by Stantec Consulting Services
The second top vote-getter; "The Crop Defender": "Scare-a-Grow," presented by the UC Master Gardeners; sponsored by the Orange County Farm Bureau
The third top vote-getter; "The Crow Chaser": "The Sprout Crows," presented by Sprout Healthy Vending
The "Critic's Choice" award: "The Modern Scarecrows," presented by Venado Middle School; sponsored by WRNS Studio
It's important to note that the voting was really close, and in some instances, the margin was less than three votes!
All participants will receive a certificate of appreciation and picture of their respective scarecrow, intended to be displayed in their individual places of business. Prizes for the top vote-getters have been donated by Whole Foods Tustin, Orange County Heritage Museum, and King's Seafood Restaurant. All prizes will be distributed at the Board meeting on 11/17./
Thank you to all builders and sponsors for your support of two worthy community efforts. This year's scarecrows were incredible and we are looking forward to the amazing creations that will be brought forth in the years to come.
