PRELUDE TO SPRING
UCI Arboretum Winter Bulb Festival

The UCI Arboretum hosts its annual Winter Bulb Festival, ‘Prelude to Spring’. Guests can enjoy abundant late winter bloom, including rare and unusual species bulbs of Gladiolus, Babiana, Watsonia and others in our Southern African Bulbs.  Guests can also see early bloom in other parts of the garden, such as the Southern African perennial garden, aloe gardens, and the California gardens, including early native wildflowers in the Athalie Clarke Garden.
 
The event also features a plant sale of unusual late winter and early spring bulbs, perennials and succulents.
 
Admission is $2.00 per adult;  children under 12 are free.  There is ample free parking directly adjacent to the Arboretum.
 
The UC Irvine Arboretum is located just south of the corner of Campus Drive and Jamboree Road on the UC Irvine North Campus.  For more information please call (949) 824-5833.

The Friends of Shipley Nature Center will host the Third Annual Spring Festival at the Shipley Nature Center on Saturday, April 26 from 9 am to 2 pm.  Admission is free.

The days activities will begin at 9 am with a Continental Breakfast, a California Native Plant Sale and the opening of the nature friendly Information Fair.  A wide variety of community groups and businesses will be on hand to share useful and informative materials.

SHERMAN LIBRARY AND GARDEN - 12th ANNUAL SPRING GARDEN TOUR
The Volunteer Association will host its twelfth annual tour of five private gardens in Corona del Mar and Newport Beach. Tickets may be purchased after April 1st.

This popular event held on the lush ten-acre grounds of historic Mission San Juan Capistrano features over seventy vendors/exhibitors of flowers, plants, and garden items, as well as a variety of crafts and fine art. Music, seminars, and food round out the day, so even non-gardeners will enjoy this event!

The Potting Shed will be hosting its annual California Native and Fall Plant Sale again this year on October 13 & 14. Hundreds of varieties and types of drought tolerant plants and California native plants will be on sale. Sales hours both days are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission is free.

UCCE MASTER GARDENERS OF ORANGE COUNTY 6th ANNUAL GARDENING SEMINAR

The goal of this seminar is to improve the gardening practices of Orange County residents who grow edible and ornamental plants. The Potting Shed will be hosting their annual Cactus and Succulent Sale and Show. They will again be joined by the Orange County Cactus and Succulent Society. Many vendors will be on hand selling specialty cactus and succulent plants.
